wedding and portrait photographer Mia Semingson is a creative visual storyteller. Mia is available for weddings, lifestyle portraiture, baby’s first year, mitzvahs and family reunions in Denver, Colorado Springs, Estes Park, Boulder, Fort Collins, Breckenridge, Vail, Aspen and across Colorado and throughout the United States. Mia is also a custom bookbinder and designer. She specializes in unique handmade photo albums, guest books, custom designed wedding invitations and favours.
Mia Semingson has nineteen years of photography experience involving black and white, color, digital, and alternative photographic processes. Her formal training is primarily as a visual artist. She received her MFA in photography and electronic media in 1998 from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she is currently a photography instructor in the Department of Fine Arts and the Division of Continuing Education. She has been a professional artist and educator since 1996.
Mia’s art work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and has been acquired by permanent collections at the University of Colorado at Boulder; the University of Maryland, Baltimore County; Instituto de Artes de Medellin, Colombia; Photo Americas; Lake Forest College; Qwest; and many private collections across the country.
Mia’s photographic style combines light hearted and relaxed formals with a photojournalistic sensibility. She approaches photography as a means of creative visual storytelling; the photograph becomes a special document that will serve as a reminder of who was present and what took place at an event. As a designer and bookbinder, her albums serve as a unique means of presenting and protecting the photographic memories.
